Atkins Advantage Mocha Crisp Coffee Bars

I found these bars at Walmart in a box of 5 (1.6oz bars) for roughly $6.00 First let me say that I hate coffee, I only purchased these for husband who drinks coffee all day, evening and would have a coffee iv running in his sleep if he could. I don't like the fact that they only have 10 grams of protein to 22 grams of carbs. The packaging claims that each bar only has 3 net carbs but doesn't elaborate on how they get this figure. Maybe it has something to do with the 11 grams of dietary fiber that each bar has?! Each bar is also 180 calories which isn't too bad considering that it is pretty filling. I do like that they have no sugar alcohols however. I felt it was only fair that I ave one to give a realistic review. If you like coffee, then you will like these bars. They taste like coffee all right. They have little coffee flakes in them. They also have chocolate flakes in them that made me able to eat past the first bite. It did leave a distinct aftertaste of, you guessed it, coffee in my mouth however so now I am counting down thirty minutes till I can drink some thing to wash the taste away. Husband loves them.

Not a very thoughtful gift!

What insane gift giver decided,
"Let's give the giant tub of chocolate to the couple that have both had weight loss surgery!"
GEE, THANKS!?!?!

EAS advantedge carb control in chocolate peanut butter crisp

I found this bar at my local Fred Meyer for just under $2.00 each. It is 240 calories with 8 grms of fat (4.5 grms are saturated), and 27 grms of total carbohydrate The wrapper has a formula for explaining how the bar actually has 4 grms net carbs. The formula reads; net carbs= total carbs-dietary fiber-sugar alcohols. Yeah whatever, this basically means this bar has a whopping 17 grams of sugar alcohols. This will make some people dump for sure. It is also overwhelmingly sweet. It was so sweet in fact that I wanted something to wash it down which is really bad when if you follow the, don't drink for 30 minutes before or after eating rule. I didn't care for it very much but husband loved it. I did like the crunchy texture of it however.

Jell-o sugar free chocolate vanilla swirls pudding snacks

I have been giving these to Lilith for a snack or dessert for awhile. Each cup has 60 calories, 1.5 grams of fat (1 gram is saturated), 13 grams of carbs, 2 grams of protein, no sugar but 7 grams of sugar alcohol. It can make some people dump with that much sugar alcohol but it hasn't affect any of us that way. It is tasty and very chocolately but not very filling. It is a total "slider food" meaning that it slides right on through the outlet of your pouch leaving you hungry sooner. But it is a nice treat if you are just dying for chocolate and is a good ice cream and dessert alternative. Lilith likes them at the end of dinner. I feel much better about giving her this instead of a pie or cake like some families have at the end of dinner.

Zone perfect Dark Chocolate Strawberry nutrition Bars

I found these at Walmart for approx. $5 a box. I had previously tried the double dark chocolate version so I decided to give these a try. Each bar has, 180 calories, 5 grams of fat (4grams is saturated), 22 grams of carbs, 14 grams of sugar, and 12 grams of protein. Why do I keep trying these bars? they don't fill you up for long, they have enough sugar in them that will surely make some people dump. They don't even taste that great. Okay, they are cheap and easy to find. That is about all they have going for them. I couldn't taste any Strawberry flavor in these bars at all. The quality of the chocolate isn't even that great. I would have to give these bars a pass.

Kirkland Signature Sugar-Free Calcium Chews

I'd probably take my vitamins more regularly if they all tasted like chocolate. I found these at Costco for $11.79 for a bag of 150 soft chews. Each piece has 20 calories, 4 gms of carbs, 3 grms of sugar alcohols, 200 international units of Vit D, 40 mcgs of Vit K, 500mg of Calcium, 20 mgs of sodium. It also has no artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, yeast, or gluten. They recommend taking 3 a day. (one chew has 50% of rda calcium, Vit D, and Vit K) These are chewy and though the chocolate flavor is very mild, it is still pretty good. I liked them and will be buying them again.
