Bumble Bee Albacore steak in Mesquite Grilled flavor

Just look at the 35 grms of protein with zero sugar and zero carbs!!!! It actually tastes good too! It fills you up, travels well. It is a great lunch or dinner by itself. It only has 150 calories for the whole thing!!!! You can find it at almost any grocery store, it isn't very expensive and it doesn't taste too fishy! I love this stuff!

They are even coming out with a line of chicken breasts! They are as easy to eat and prepare as a protein bar but they are real food!!!! If you live in Anchorage, you better go get some before they are all gone, because I am going to stock up on them. Husband wants them for his lunches too!

Chicken of the Sea Salmon Steak in Honey Barbecue glaze

This is a great on the go lunch. It has 25 grams of protein and only 18 grams of carbs. It does have 13 grams of sugar which may be too much for some but I tolerated it well. It is super filling and very tasty!
It isn't very "fishy" either. Lilith liked it too. It travels very well. They have many other flavors; http://www.chickenofthesea.com/product_line_detail.aspx?did=4800009135
The roasted garlic flavor has only 1 gram of sugar, 8 grms of carbs, and 25 grams of protein. I am going to look for it on my next shopping trip. I think these pouches are a great high protein meal!

Big Train Spiced Low Carb Chai

After dumping on the regular Big Train Chai from the coffee cart at my job, I decided to try to find a tasty alternative that wouldn't come with the heart palpations, sweating and headache. I started looking online and came upon seriouschai.com. They carried the whole Big Train line and gave nutritional information for each of their products. I even got free shipping because I signed up for a online coupon. I ordered two 2lb tubs of Big Trains spiced low carb chai. (I got a free sample of their low carb blended vanilla latte mix that I will review later) I love it. I took one tub to work and have been averaging cups a day. It doesn't have so much caffeine that it makes you jumpy or keeps you up. It is great on a cold day and even though it doesn't have any protein to speak of (I have heard this is really good with Cinnamon vanilla protein powder but I haven't tried it yet), it also doesn't have any sugar to speak of either. It does have 7 grams of sugar alcohol so it may be a bad choice for some post ops that are sensitive to them but I reacted just fine to it. I will be ordering more!

Mama Draw Love?

Lilith and I have drawing time almost everyday. During this time she makes various drawing requests from me. Usually her favorites are; sooty, mailbox (think Blues Clues), tree, or puppy. Today she took me by surprise by saying, "Mama draw love?" What do you draw to convey the feeling of love to a 2 year old? I could draw her, but that is corney and not specific enough. Hearts and flowers aren't really love. A kiss is and act but not necessarily love. She says she loves Sooty so I could draw them playing but then I think Sooty only tolerates Lilith at this point so that really isn't love. I settled on a picture of us hugging. It was the best I could do. It was woefully inadequate. I tried to explain how much I love her and how my whole life changed when she was born. How I am a better person because of her. I told her how on even really bad days, her smile makes me feel so much better. How I would do almost anything for her. How part of my loving her was a desire to protect her and keep her safe. How some of the rules we have were because we love her. How she is the most important thing in the world to me. I told her how many people love her (Daddy, Jo Anna (my mother), Daddy's mother (hey, I was trying to be positive) and Daddy's father and stepmother, his sisters, and our friends, etc). I told her I would always love her no matter what. Even when she does bad things or when I am in a bad mood, I still love her. Then I remembered she is only two years old and that I will be having this conversation again, and again. I decided to end it there and gave her a big hug and told her, "Mama Loves Lilith!". She smiled and looked at my picture. Then she asked, "Mama draw sad?"
My little baby is growing so much more than just physically.

Harvey Walden Fighting Fit, Fighting Fat

This is a very good workout video. I love it. It features Harvey Walden from VH1 Celebrity Fit Club. He isn't as loud or in your face as he is in that show which is very good. Instead, he is very matter of fact and precise. He uses a stop watch to time each exercise which at first I thought was strange but then I started thinking about some of those exercise videos where the instructor starts talking and getting on a tangent and you are dying thinking, "OMG how many of these have we done already?" You won't find your self doing this during this video. You will also know what moves are coming next with plenty of time to prepare for the change. You are expected to march between exercises so you have time between transitioning to the next exercise but you don't cool down. This video has a cheesy barracks type decor and everyone is in black or green, it is a military style workout after all. Its not glitzy or glamorous but it works. It starts with a warm up that is 8 minutes long. Then it moves into the main workout sections. There are 3 fifteen workouts. They show modifications for almost every exercise to make it harder or easier. He states you can start doing one 15 minute exercise set after the warm up and then do the cool down (6 minutes)and eventually add the two other 15 minute (each) as time and fitness levels allow. I was not able to do 2 of the 15 minute exercises without really losing form and repetitions during the second 15 minute set. This is what Harvey doesn't want. He states that you need to work up to being able to do more than one of the main workouts so this doesn't happen. Once you can maintain your form and repetitions during one 15 minute set, then you can add another one and so on. I really enjoy this video. The time really seems to pass quickly and maybe because there isn't so much talking, it doesn't seem to get stale with repeated viewing. You can expect to be doing some jumping (they show modifications for the jumping jacks for example) and push ups, etc. I really found out how weak my upper body is after the push ups. You can get this from my Amazon store in the side bar. I think it is the best one I have tried so far.

love knows no species

In a zoo in California , a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set of triplet tiger cubs. Unfortunately, due to complications in the pregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size, they died shortly after birth.
The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery, suddenly started to decline in health, although physically she was fine. The veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the tigress to fall into a depression. The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogate another mother's cubs, perhaps she would improve. After checking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs of the right age to introduce to the mourning mother. The veterinarians decided to try something that had never been tried in a zoo environment. Sometimes a mother of one species will take on the care of a different species. The only orphans' that could be found quickly, were a litter of weanling pigs. The zoo keepers and vets wrapped the piglets in tiger skin and placed the babies around the mother tiger.
Now, please tell me one more time ... Why the rest of the world can't get along?
