I have lost a Lilith
I had my 1 week post op appointment today. I was weighed first and I
have lost my daughters total weight! Can you believe it? In one week! Then
after you are all excited and happy, they tell you it is time to pull
your drain. It didn't really hurt exactly but I decided to watch. I was
sitting in the chair and the PA asked me to take a deep breath in and
exhale it slowly. He cut the two stitches anchoring it in place then
folded a 4x4 and placed it to the left side of the incision and asked
me to apply some pressure and hold it there, okay that hurt a little.
Then he prompted me to take that breath, I did and he began to pull on
the drain very fast, it kept coming, and coming and coming, then the
clear plastic tubing became large white waffle tubing, and it too kept
coming and coming, (I am surprised that my eyes didn't fall out of my
head at this point as they were so large with disbelief), and just when
I started to feel like I might vomit from the shear site of so much
tubing coming from my abdomen, it stopped. He announced that we were
done and put the 4x4 on it and taped it down. I asked why I wasn't
getting stitches or steristrips or something, and he said that as long
as I kept it clean and dry, (changing the 4x4 everyday), it would be
fine. We then talked about my diet for week 2.

I got in my 60 grams of protein in the form of ISOPURE and NAKED protein shakes that (as you can see from the chart above) take hours to drink.

I am only taking one day from each week just to give you an idea. They call the first 6 months post op, your Honeymoon period because during that time you are able to loose more weight than you will ever be able to again. It starts to slow after the 6 month mark but even so most people if they follow the rules and the plan, reach their goal weight in less than 1 year, some even sooner. Some people even have trouble losing too much.
