1 package 15 bean soup mix
1 ham steak
1 onion, finely chopped
1 green pepper, also finely chopped
1 carrot, chopped
6-8 cups water
dash of garlic powder
dash of Italian seasoning
dash of black pepper
1 crockpot where the handle comes off mid way during cooking process
1 three year old who wants to "help" with cooking process
3 loads of laundry that you are trying to do during the cooking process
also you must be trying to make this soup after working on call on your day off
1 well meaning husband who politely tells you that the spice packet that you though was from the 15 bean soup mix was actually a packet of catnip from the cat toy he purchased last week but eats the soup anyway only commenting that it needs salt!

Ha ha! This is great! I once worked with a vet who had a party and invited a bunch of other vets. She then served them all crackers with liver pate, but the pate was canned cat food! They reportedly all ate it!
