Send Lilith to Sea World ( and her parents too!)
Why we need to win a trip to Sea World!
Let's forget the fact that the last "vacation" we had was a year and a half ago when we, (my husband, Lilith, three cats, and myself), all drove from Colorado to Anchorage in a VW Bug. Even disregarding the fact that our first "summer" in Alaska last year was freakishly short, even for Alaska. I like to joke that if I had know summer was only going to be one week long, I would have asked for that week off. I am not even going to whine about the fact that for most of the time since we have been in Alaska, husband has worked when I was off and I have worked when husband was off so we really have had no "days" off together as a family and would really enjoy having some quality time together that wasn't after work or right before.
What I will stress however, is how much fun Lilith would have at Sea World and how darn cute she would look in all of the photos we would take and put on the web. Have you been reading this blog long?
Well, if you have then you know I speak the truth. Lilith could rule the world with her cuteness, not to mention cause a rush of bookings for trips to Sea World! I actually have been teaching her about sea creatures lately because we watched Nemo. She calls Manta Rays "Water Bats" and has even come up with he own sign language for it. It is super cute.
She had a blast at last years Alaska State Fair and even rode some "Big Girl" rides. You can see from the photos what fun it was for her and us. I can't even imagine how much fun she would have now that she is almost a year older!
Since having weight loss surgery, my husband and I haven't been anywhere warm enough to warrant wearing swim suits or even sun dresses. I would love an excuse to be able to go buy some fun sun dresses for myself and Lilith (not to mention a new swimsuit!) and celebrate my 120+ pound weight loss. It is hard to really appreciate it when you wear baggy pajamas,(aka hospital scrubs), 90% of the time and layers of winter clothing for the rest!
If all of the above failed to persuade you to allow us to win, (how could you say no to that sweet face in those photos?), then just picture us huddled together by the heater in our dark Alaskan landscape for another 3-4 months and then ask yourself, doesn't this family deserve a vacation somewhere warm and sunny?
