Octuplet Mom Asking for donations!

I am sure that most of you have heard by now that the mother of octuplets (plus the 6 other children at home already) is asking for donations on her website, http://www.thenadyasulemanfamily.com/ I am very disturbed by this, especially as a person that works in a NICU and sees needy families everyday that don't have the resources to hire a publicist (although I heard she quit after receiving death threats) and who didn't intentionally plan on having several high risk babies without insurance or the means (emotional, financial, or physical) to provide for them. I also see everyday what these babies go through just trying to live and make it. I also see what health isssues they have from being born so early and so small and I know that many of these health issues will be life long.
I wonder what kind of negative response I would receive if I tried to get donations here for say....um a new bed for my daughters birthday..
I'll set up a paypal donation and see what happens! At least I am going to be honest that I intend to buy an expensive bed with the money (I promise not to get any plastic surgery with it even though goodness knows I could use some). Luckily with today's economy being what it is, my husband and I both have jobs and have health insurance so we are able to provide for our daughter. As much as we would like to give Lilith a sibling, (she actually has started asking for one!?!), we are responsible enough to realize that financially, this is not a good time for us to do so..so we are choosing to wait. Too bad Nadya didn't think this way.
