Toys to fight childhood obesity!

Lilith is getting some active toys this Christmas. She received an indoor trampoline last year and still uses it daily. She has outgrown her toddler slide and swing set however. We are on a mission to find her some toys that will encourage her to move and burn off some of that toddler energy constructively. We ended up buying a VSmile V-motion game system (think of it as a Wii for little kids) and a couple of games (it plays all v-smile cartridges not just the v-motion ones so you can find lots of titles in all price ranges) and a smart cycle. If you decide to buy the smart cycle, be sure to buy the extended warranty if the retailer you are purchasing it from offers it as I read several reviews that stated the peddles can break. The extended warranty cost us $17.00 for 16 months at Toys R Us. There is also a dance pad available for the v-smile game systems (again think dance dance revolution for toddlers) from the v tech online store HERE!. With childhood obesity at record high, it is good to know that there are toys out there that encourage your child to be active and to get moving, especially if they can learn at the same time! I will be posting more about these toys along with photos after Christmas. I hope that this makes being cooped up during the Alaskan winters a little more bearable for all of us.
