I am a size 10!

This is a photo that Will took of me during our drive to Alaska.
Notice the fit or sould I say, notice the lack of any type of fit, of my clothing in it. I was still trying to wear my size 20's and 18's. My closet was totally lacking anything between sizes 18 and size 12. I came to Alaska in my 18's and 20's and put my size 12's into our moving. I thought there was, "No way I can still be wearing size 18 pants (even if they were hanging off) and be even close to being able to wear a size 12!" Why didn't Will show me a photo of myself in those size 18's when I told him that! I would have a lot more clothes right now, instead of tons of clothes in storage that we aren't planning to have shipped for months!. When we got here and I saw this photo, thankfully before I went to any job interviews, I went to buy some clothing. I took several size 14's into the dressing room and one size 12 thinking that I would see how much farther I had till they would actually fit and perhaps it would motivate me to get my exercise and protein intake back on track (it was totally lacking during the moving and the first 2 weeks here). I tried on the size 12's and they fit. I tried on more 12's and they fit also. The medium scrubs fit too! This is a classic example of my mental image of my body not matching the physical reality of it. I had been fat so long that I just couldn't imagine I wasn't in plus sizes. Of course now I see all kinds of cute plus sized clothing here. (yes women tend to be a larger than they were in Colorado but not as large as the were in Texas {sorry Texas}). I hope to loose down to a size 6 or 8 before the end of my 1st year post op. (I am a little over 6 months out). I still have a good chunk of weight to loose. I tried on a size 10 pair of jeans and they were tight but they fit! So I consider myself a size 10!
