Gregorios
Address:
1910 Wadsworth Blvd
Lakewood
There are few
restaurants that my husband and I miss from Denver, this is one. It
really is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Denver if you ask me,
and a lot of the regulars that go there. I highly recommend the
"Marianna's Special" if you want a BIG filling dinner. It has a taco (I
usually give mine to one of my dining companions,
not that they aren't great, it's just too much food otherwise and it
gets too soggy if you try to take it home), a tamale, a bean burrito, a
Chiles rellenos, an Enchilada, plus beans and rice. Told you it was BIG! The Chile con queso is wonderful and comes in a bowl or a cup. My favorite desert there is the sopapia deluxe, which is a huge Sunday on, you guessed it, a sopapia
. It is enough for 2-3 so don't order more than one till you actually
see it. Some of the waitstaff have worked there the ten years that I
have been going there. It is family owned. Which brings me to the bad
part of the review...This restaurant has NO CHANGING TABLE! NONE AT ALL!
I had to change Lilith on the floor in the corner of the DINING ROOM!
Thank goodness she was only wet and that we have a portable changing
pad! How gross is that? If the food wasn't so very good, and it is. We
would NEVER go back. They have high chairs that are pretty decent
however. I still was amazed that there wasn't even a counter much less floor space that wasn't next to a toilet
or sink to change a baby in the bathroom. This is a family place as I
have seen children and babies dining there throughout the years but
until I had Lilith, I never even noticed the lack of a changing table.
If you want you can always get the food to go but for us, driving it
all of the way back home means it would be cold and soggy by the time
we got there. If you don't have your baby with you or if you feel
comfortable changing him or her outside in the car or like I had to, in
the dining room, this is a great Mexican restaurant. Maybe I will mention the lack of a changing table next time we go and one of the family members that owns it is actually there. Lilith was a great spot about it, maybe because the three car dealerships that we went to that day (our reason for being in Denver in the first place) didn't have any changing tables either so she had already been changed a few times on bathroom counters that day. Thank goodness for that portable changing pad!
