The Girls Next Door Workout

Okay laugh if you want but some of the workouts are very challenging and fun in this collection. You do need hand weights and an exercise ball for Holly's workout and a jump rope for Kendra's but that is all. A mat might be good to have also. Each workout is very short, about 15 minutes each. Each workout starts with a warm up and ends with a stretching cool down. Holly's workout is first. It is a good warm up. She admits that she doesn't like to workout and her narrative is condescending at times, "You really need to to work this area as that is where a lot of people get fat when they are old" (I get the feeling old is 24 in Bunny Years). She ads the disclaimer that you really need to do more than a 15 minute workout a day in order for it to be effective and tries to sell some "bunny workout gear" in the interview section but if you just do the workout, it's not bad. She did forget the hand weights at one point and runs to get them which makes me wonder why they didn't edit that out?!? Bridget's workout is boot camp style and the most challenging of the three. She seems a little more down to earth than the other two girls. She talks about the 24 room service at the mansion being her downfall. She also admits that she HAS to workout. She says along with this 15 minute workout, she does treadmill and other workout activities to stay fit. She also says she struggles with feeling she looks good enough compared to some of the other girls at the events she attends.
Her workout is my favorite. Lastly is Kendra's workout which starts with a brief booty shake dance that she doesn't even make a pretense of trying to teach. It then goes into a jump rope warm up. I actually like this workout least as it is a quasi Martial arts/ taebo type workout. She seem scattered and unfocused, kinda like on the show. It is hard for me to do this workout as I really can't take her seriously. Her work out also involves a lot of jumping which may be harder for people with bad knees or larger women. Yes, there are obvious shots showing the girls bodies but I choose to look at it as motivational, I know it's a stretch. It isn't a bad DVD to pop in if you only have 15 minutes to get in a quick workout or if you do at least 2 of the workouts back to back. I do Holly's a Bridget's back to back all of the time. You will break a sweat with Bridget's and feel it. I think it is a good video to add to your workout collection for variety but I wouldn't use it as my sole workout, like Bridget says. You can get it from my Amazon in the side bar.
