Support the sea train

My husband heard about this on the radio one day and was super excited to get Lilith signed up for it. After a coworker of mine tracked down the direct number for the person at the Alaska Sealife Center handling this, I found out sadly that due to lack of funding, this event train may not actually happen. Please, please help keep this wonderful trip alive by donating and expressing your support. I cannot imagine how much joy and excitement this could bring to so many of Alaska's children (including my Lilith!)!!
"The Sea Train has brought the Anchorage School District, Alaska SeaLife Center and Alaska Railroad together for a great cause: providing schoolchildren with unique opportunities to learn. Over nine days in October, virtually every fifth grader in Anchorage—nearly 3,500 students—will take the train between Anchorage and Seward while completing activities that bring their classroom studies to life. Riding historic rails through mountains rich with wildlife, interacting with marine life and scientists at the only public aquarium in Alaska, and viewing glaciers on a National Scenic Byway are experiences that our state’s visitors and residents treasure.
Please help us share that treasure with an Alaskan child by donating to the Sea Train program. The Center has taken the lead in raising nearly $350,000 per year to make the Sea Train move, and we need your help. Like so many activities necessary to enrich a child’s education and broaden student perspectives, the Sea Train relies on the generosity of individuals, foundations and businesses willing to invest in Alaska."
